Where has this Duchene been the last two years? And everyone who complained about the team resigning Granlund might need to shut their holes for a while. Nice to hear Trenin finally get one too. The guy could probably easily have ten goals by now with the type of chances he's been getting, and I'm only slightly exaggerating.

Nice to see Rittich too come in and play a solid road game. I forgot how well the Preds played down the stretch last year against really good Florida. Carolina and Tampa teams to get into the Playoffs then gave Carolina a tough go in Rd 1. Maybe this is a Playoff team…? Pleasant surprise at this start.

I've always thought this was a borderline playoff team... The real question is should that be good enough for us anymore. The problem with mediocre teams is that they tend to stay mediocre. I'd be fine with just competing for a playoff spot if Poile would just commit to calling this whatever type of rebuild he wants to call it and stop talking in circles. This isn't a Vegas situation where that fanbase got spoiled right out of the gate and now they've gotta do everything in their power to keep that team in Cup Contender talks to keep that base interested. Give that franchise five more years at this rate, and that arena is going to resemble the topography it was built upon. The Preds franchise is old enough to drink at this point. I think we can handle knowing that not every year is going to be like 2017. Those seasons are rare and that's why they mean so much when you get one.
